The WOD that almost didn’t happen.
NO. MOTIVATION.
That’s my life when it comes to eating and working out right now. I think it’s because I have SO MUCH going on in preparation for this weekend.
So, this being the case… I had no desire to workout tonight. I just wanted to get done what I NEED to get done and relax. Hubby started getting whiny about missing the workout and I finally said fine. There is no way I was letting him WOD and not join in. Can’t have him showing me up ;0) At the same time there is no way I was going to be the reason why he didn’t WOD. He got some pans out to start supper and I walked over, shut the stove off and said “let’s go”. Off I went to change.
And a WOD happened. It was a good one.
100 PUC W5D3L1 (day 3 of 3): 13, 13, 15, 15, 12, 12, 10, max (at least 30) 42. Total: 132 (best by 6)
Warmup (2 rds of 15 unless noted): jumping jacks, shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges, quad/ham stretches, squats (hold last one 10 sec).
WOD (for time): 100 walking lunges, 50 crunches, 50 split jumps, 50 crunches, 100 walking lunges = 8:54
Supper was much more enjoyable knowing that we earned it.
It’s true what everyone says, the hardest part is “getting off the couch”. When you finally get up and get ‘er done there is no better feeling and you never regret it.
Even with taking the time to work out tonight I still got everything else done from my list… except the last bit of wrapping. Tomorrow morning is dedicated to the WOD, cleaning and baking cookies for Santa. Christmas with the Rodzen’s tomorrow night.
The craziness has begun!
Thursday WOD
Yesterday was a rest day thanks to an after work Christmas party. Back at it today.
We’re struggling with the early morning workouts. Just too damn tired to get up. We always feel better when we do, but still don’t. Amazingly, they still get done when we get home.
Warmup (2 rds of 15 unless noted): jumping jacks, shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges, quad/ham stretches, squats (hold last one 10 sec).
WOD: 1 min run, 200 bicycle crunches, 50 push-ups, 100 bicycle crunches, 1 min run for time and distance. Time: 7:03. Distance: 0.268
Another good, quick, workout.
Another unhealthy meal for supper. I did a lot better throughout the day today though. Sweet intake was moderate instead of insane. Yes, insane. My waistline proves it. I know I can correct this at any time rather than waiting until after the holidays, but after the holidays the temptations will be far less. A little over a week and I’ll “be back”.
Tomorrow is a half day of work, holiday lunch with coworkers, secret santa gift exchange and then finally I can start my mini Christmas vacation. CAN’T WAIT!
Tuesday WOD
100 PUC W5D3L1 (day 2 of 3): 13, 13, 15, 15, 12, 12, 10, max (at least 30) 36. Total: 126 (best by 4)
Warmup (2 rds of 15 unless noted): jumping jacks, shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges, quad/ham stretches, squats (hold last one 10 sec).
WOD (15 min AMRAP): 15 jumping jacks, 15 squats, 15 walking lunges, 5 clap push-ups = 10 1/2 rounds, finished 11
Another busy day that flew by.
Tomorrow, Christmas party after work. Fun stuff.
Today. So far.
Daughter seems a lot better today. I am hoping that means she can go to school tomorrow.
Whoopie pie mission complete.
Brothers Christmas gift search is over. Wrapped and ready to go.
WOD complete:
Warmup (x2): jumping jacks (15), shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges (15), quad stretches, squats (15 - hold last rep 10 sec).
WOD (4 round for time): 50 pushups, 50 mountain climbers, 50 bicycle crunches, 50 jumping jacks = 14:15
Delicious lunch. Dump run done. Groceries bought and put away.
I call nap time!
Yes, I’m still alive.
I just realized I have been MIA since Thursday on this little ‘ole blog. I’m still here.
Friday FLEW by at work. YAY.
Yesterday FLEW by with all the shopping, baking and wrapping that I had going on. BOO! I hate when weekends fly. Happy to report though that ALL wrapping is complete. Only a few things left to buy and we’ll be ready for Christmas!
Eating remains to be awful. Everyday. I can’t seem to resist the sweet stuff (or want to). I avoided the scale last Monday for that very reason. Tomorrow I must face reality. At least the holidays will be over soon.
Friday was rest day, but yesterday we did WOD:
Normal warmup.
100pushup challenge: Day 1 of 3 on the week 5, day 3, level 1 - 13, 13, 15, 15, 12, 12, 10, 32. When I did this on the actual day I stopped at max 30. So, I was able to manage a couple more. Total 122, best by 2!
WOD (for time): 21-15-9 split jumps & OH squats, 100 bicycle crunches, 100 mountain climbers. 4:43. Completely beat at the end.
Now we’re at Sunday. Time to get my butt in gear. Ready, set, GO!
Another quickie…
Not sure what is up with all the quick workouts in a row, but I’m not complaining. They kick my ass just as much as a 15 or 20 minute WOD. Here’s today:
Warmup (x2): jumping jacks (15), shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges (15), quad stretches, squats (15 - hold last rep 10 sec).
WOD (for time): 21-15-9 diamond pushups & tuck jumps,100 mountain climbers (50 each leg) = 4:11
Tonight, my week of Week 5 Day 3 on the 100pushup challenge begins.
It all helps me get stronger. Regardless of how long or short.
On another note, thanks for all the kind words about the “fat” comment my daughter endured yesterday. I think it pissed her off more than upset her. Our daycare provider knows the kid and his parents. It is not a good home environment and he’s not a good kid, unfortunately. They told me this morning they wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up in jail someday and that they’d bet money he didn’t graduate. He’s also a 5th grader. I feel bad for him. It’s not all his fault. He doesn’t have to be a bully… but he probably doesn’t know any better. I’m told his older sister is on the verge of expulsion at school and is brought to school every day by a truancy officer. I told my daughter to consider the source and walk away. He isn’t worth her time. Hopefully she’s strong enough to do that.
Now, I get through my Thursday. Daughter and I are having a little girls shopping date tonight. She needs to shop for her brother and we need to get daddy some stocking stuffers.
Slight redemption.
We woke up early to WOD. This is a good thing because I have a meeting tonight and probably won’t get home until after 9PM.
Warmup (x2): jumping jacks (15), shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges (15), quad stretches, squats (15 - hold last rep 10 sec).
WOD (for time and least number of squats): 100 pushups, for every break do 15 squats = 3:17, 4 breaks = 60 squats
This was a redemption workout for me. Knowing that the goal was to have the least amount of breaks I pushed and pushed and pushed. 48 pushups! I beat 45 by 3! This is my most “in a row” ever. And, if you read my post last night… this proved that I could have done 46 yesterday if I had paid a little more attention. I’m still sticking with my plan for the 100pushup challenge, but at least this made me feel better.
Anyway, I broke my pushups down as follows: 48, 62, 75, 90, 100. The 15 squats in between took all of 15 seconds so not much of a break…
Now, I’m at work. I was super productive yesterday which is leaving me extra slow today… Yup, it’s gonna be a LONG day.
On a positive note, IT’S WEDNESDAY! We’re halfway to the weekend!
WOD & 100 Pushup Challenge
This morning about 5:45AM I performed a week 5 exhaustion test. I read ahead and saw that I had to do 45 in order to move on.
So, I did 45.
Then I looked at it again and found that I had MISREAD and I was actually supposed to keep going and if I did more than 45 (say 46) then I move on. FML.
I probably could have squeezed out another push-up… although I was completely spent when I hit 45 (which is my max “in a row”)… Ugh.
At first I told myself I would have got another one in and that I’d move on to week 6. The more I thought about it during the day I’ve decided I’m going to stick with week 5 day 3 for the next week. I struggled to get through day 3 when I did it. My arms could use the extra week before moving on. Also, hubby is going on to week 5 so this will put us together instead of me a week ahead.
So, long story short. Decision made. Going to do week 5 day 3 over and over and over again.
Tonight, we completed our WOD. It was a short one. This was actually a blessing because my dad ended up stopping in and staying for dinner.
After the typical warmup the WOD was 2 minutes run, 100 bicycle crunches, 25 crunches, 100 bicycle crunches, 2 minute run. This was for distance and time. I did .252 miles, 2:36, .26 miles.
Good, hard and quick WOD.
Tomorrow morning we resume our early WOD’s. Even though it is VERY MUCH a struggle to get up, we both agree that we have more energy when we do it.
Night all.
The Dirty Dozen
We went with this WOD today.
12 reps, 12 exercises. 5 minute warm up and then 30 minute AMRAP:
1. Squat jumps 2. Air jacks 3. Push-ups 4. Lie down-stand ups 5. Plank jacks 6. Lunges 7. Reverse lunges 8. Cobra to plank 9. In and out v-sit crunches 10. Split squat jumps 11. Squat kicks 12. Dips. = 5 rounds + 1-3.
My arms and legs are STILL tired. It doesn’t help that I was on my feet all afternoon baking.
I, honestly, don’t care if I ever see another whoopie pie again. Unfortunately, I’m not done and have another weekend ahead of me filled with more baking in order to get them finished. Ugh.
Now, I work on my paper. I have no desire, but it NEEDS to get done and I’ll feel better when it’s behind me.
On another note, It isn’t even 6PM and feels like it should be bedtime already. I hate these dark winter months.
Busy Girl.
Apparently I didn’t post yesterday.
- I did WOD. This makes me a good fitblr.
- It was a good workout with lots of jumping jacks (jj). Which I have a love/hate relationship with. I love doing them, but I hate that I pee my pants every time. Doesn’t matter what I do to prevent it. I just can’t. TMI? Oh well.
- 15 minute AMRAP: 12 superman, 65 jj, 12 dips, 65 jj = 6 rounds.
- I had a pedicure. Now I have some of the prettiest toes around.
- I got to spend some quality time with my best friend that I barely ever get to see. This makes me a very happy Heidi.
- I went to On The Border for lunch and had delicious Mexican. This makes me a bad fitblr. Although, I didn’t eat much and what I did eat was fairly healthy so the damage probably wasn’t too bad.
- I had my favorite Starbucks treat, skinny caramel frappucino.
- I got quite a bit of Christmas shopping done.
- I started baking. And more baking. And more baking.
- Spaghetti-O’s for supper. Again, bad fitblr.
Today started out with baking, more baking and more baking. I’m baked out and not even close to done. But, I’ve baked so much I’m out of sugar. Oops. Kind of a funny/not funny story about that… I actually threw half a bag of sugar away and didn’t notice it. Thought it was expired flour. Anyway, realized it this morning and it was at the bottom of the trash with dirty cat litter. Le sigh.
So, now I WOD. Shower. Go buy more sugar. Continue baking.
Happy Sunday.
