Happy Healthy Heidi!

On 6/15/09 I went on a weight loss journey to find a happier and healthier Heidi. I found her and she's here to stay! Part 2 was running. This was conquered on 10/2/11 when I became a Marathoner. Now, part 3. I'm becoming a triathlete (swim, bike, run) and getting stronger. This is me, living life in the fast lane. Ask me anything

I think I’m ready to get strong.

I’ve been running fine for a couple weeks; however, I haven’t been doing any ab work or strength training.  This is because I was trying to avoid any unnecessary pressure in the ab region post surgery.

I had my follow up appointment a week ago and the doctor gave me the “all clear” to proceed with any activity I wanted, with the condition that I stop if I feel any pressure or discomfort.  Since, just that day, he finally removed the tape from my stitches I decided to hold off until it “looked” and “felt” more normal.  I can’t and won’t explain it… but let’s just say I’m finally at a point where I’m ready to tackle more than just running.

I have to meet up with a classmate tonight so my run will be inside on the ‘mill.  Afterwards, look out abs and arms.  Momma’s gonna go hard!

Plus, if you haven’t heard/read/seen… there is a possibility I’ll be spending a week on the beach with Katy (in October).  She’ll be all buff and sexy in her bikini showing off her 6-pack.  Me, I’ll be the girl hiding behind the towel.  I kid, but… I got LOTS of work to do over the next 8 months.  You won’t catch me wearing a bikini, but I still wanna look good!
