It's gonna snow tonight.
And tomorrow. And tomorrow night.
I can’t complain, we haven’t had many storms this season.
BUT, I’m very ready for spring!
On the bright side, I got an e-mail from the boss saying I could work from home if I wanted. I think that is a WONDERFUL idea. If school gets cancelled I’m taking advantage of it!
Can anyone say jammy day tomorrow?!?!

Another day is about over.
Slow day. Busy night.
W8D1 was completed with the C25K group. We covered 3.16 miles. It was a good run, but my head cold left me with a huge sinus headache afterwards.
I heard back on the Women Start Strength class. He’s offering another class on Sundays. YAY. Starting this Sunday at 3PM. My best friends baby shower is from 2-5PM Sunday. So, I can’t go. BOO. I’m...

It's hard to stay focused...
when you feel like crap. My chest cold has migrated to my head. I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep.
Eating well and exercise is the last thing on my mind.
Hope this rut ends quickly… I’m rapidly approaching January 1st weight.
I survived!
The day is about done.
I made it through W7D3. I was really worried with my chest feeling the way it has, but I did fine. No issues during or after. Feeling pretty good actually.
I also managed to get through “the talk”. She giggled a little bit. She won’t think it’s so funny when the time comes… she asked ALL the questions. She now knows ALL the things. Why...

On a positive note...
I’ve managed to avoid all things chocolate since the beginning of lent.

Tonight
I somehow managed to avoid “the talk” last night with Little Miss. Unfortunately, it will probably come up again tonight…she isn’t one to forget things or let them slide.
I also need to run with group tonight. W7D3. Honestly, I’m not looking forward to it because running 1 mile last night on the treadmill, at a 10:00 pace, kicked me in the chest. Have I mentioned...

Not even joking!
I have done school work for EIGHT HOURS!
Ugh!
I haven’t even run my mile yet. I did manage to leave for a while to do groceries and pick my daughter up from cheering practice.
I will be SO glad when this semester is over. For MANY reasons!
Guess I should get some dinner now.
Later I get to explain the female reproductive system to my almost 11 year old. She asked tonight. Good...

It's supposed start snowing soon...
If that happens C25K running group gets postponed until Sunday (going to snow into tomorrow).
If that happens I get to have a date night with hubby (dinner and possibly a movie).
I’m (not so) secretly hoping that happens!

I am getting a chest cold.
This is DEFINITELY hubby’s fault!

Oh "two day"...
how I love/hate you!
I had almost forgotten how much worse I feel two days after a good workout…. not anymore.
Every time I turned in my sleep last night I was reminded.
Ouch!
totallytristan replied to your post: I found this new class in “the Hills”.
Why would a dude start a women only class? Sounds fishy to me…. But I also thought Katy was a psycho-serial killer… So who knows?
LOL. He’s a fitness trainer at the Y in Portland. He just knows we have nothing local since he’s from the area. I’m not worried. Just like I...
I found this new class in "the Hills".
“The Hills” is where I live. Not anything like Beverly Hills…. unfortunately….
Anyway… now that FaceBook shares every little thing that someone writes into my ticker… last night I saw that some girl I graduated with (that also still lives in the area) wrote on the wall for an “event” called Women Start Strength. I went to check it out. Basically,...

Must have been a good workout yesterday.
My whole body hurts today!
Lent starts today.
I’m not religious, but I do like the idea of challenging myself to get rid of something I don’t need in my life or add something positive to it.
Last night I was talking about this and my dear hubby said chocolate. And then I’m pretty sure he and my 8 year old son said I couldn’t do it.
So, there you have it. No chocolate. 40 days.
Let’s see how many hours...
Today was a good day.
I ate a little better.
I ran a little faster.
I got a litter stronger.
Baby steps.
Good thing tomorrow is a new day...
because today has been down right terrible in the eating department.
W7D1
With the C25K group is done. 2.84 miles. They’ll be ready for a 5k before they know it!
Today’s been pretty relaxing. Shopping, yummy food and lounging. My kinda day.
Back to reality tomorrow. Trying not to think about the fact that I have no more “days off” until Memorial Day. Blah!
Happy Presidents Day!
Great outside run!
Longest since the marathon and held a pretty steady pace - even during a ridiculous hill and head winds for 1/2 the run.
6.67 miles, 1:09:42, 10:26 pace
The weather in Maine is ridiculously unseasonable for February. I’m not complaining. This just means I was WAY overdressed for the conditions. I took off one layer, but didn’t have anywhere to put my second layer if I shed that too...
LONG WEEKEND!
I am so super happy about this.
Aside from cleaning, groceries, a dump run, school work and of course running all the miles we have no real plans or places to be. I am going to be busting ass tomorrow to get stuff done so I can TRY to have two FULL days of peace and relaxation!
It’s been a pretty good week. No real complaints. We booked our trip (YAY!) AND I found out today that Katy...
I did not get stronger tonight.
Not even close.
I ran one mile in 10:00. I had a side stitch for half of it. Not cool.
It doesn’t pay to have a late dinner (brinner actually) and then try to workout 5-10 minutes later.
Oh well. There’s always tomorrow.
I think I'm ready to get strong.
I’ve been running fine for a couple weeks; however, I haven’t been doing any ab work or strength training. This is because I was trying to avoid any unnecessary pressure in the ab region post surgery.
I had my follow up appointment a week ago and the doctor gave me the “all clear” to proceed with any activity I wanted, with the condition that I stop if I feel any...

shortmom replied to your post: Another run in the books.
Chicago? ;-)
At first I would have said “unfortunately no”. While we were still undecided registration closed. So talk of Chicago ended.
We’re actually going to Puerto Vallarta the week of our anniversary instead. I can’t wait! I am looking forward to this time away from reality and by October it will be LONG...
Another run in the books.
W6D2 was on tap. It was a decent run and we covered 2.74 miles. I can’t believe I have run every single day this year. Crazy.
Came home to a delish pasta dinner made by Hubby.
Now I relax for the duration.
On an exciting note, we booked our anniversary vacation getaway today. I wish we didn’t have to wait FOREVER (October) to go, but it will be well worth the wait.
I love great outside runs!
Especially when hubby joins me for part of it.
4.04 miles, 40:46
Now, Chinese food. Yum.
Yup.
I definitely have a case of the Mondays.
I can't believe it.
I’ve managed to keep up the “get mileage in everyday” challenge I’ve set for myself. The day after surgery I walked my slowest mile ever at 19:38. These last couple days I have had meetings and have been getting home between 9:30-10:00 and still managed to pull out some fast miles (9:22 and 9:14 respectively).
Tonight I’m looking forward to a much more casual,...
I'm still here.
Plugging along.
I’m feeling pretty recovered from surgery. My follow up is Thursday when they’ll finally remove the tape covering the incision site.
Running has been good. Never did my long run I wanted to do Sunday, but felt good about the 2.5 miles I did get in. Definitely getting faster. No issues with pain or rubbing on the scar/incision anymore.
Eating has been...
Seriously guys....
$1,000+ to spend 4 nights in Chicago.
I can see if you’re splitting the cost with a roommate…. But we’d have our own room….
Ugh. Decisions. If I do this I’m pretty much guaranteeing no special 10-yr anniversary getaway.
I’m torn.

TGIF!
It was another great day =) I LOVE those. Found out my boss will fully pay for my trip to Denver, CO in August/September! YAY!
Came home and got my run in with the C25K group. 2.23 miles completed.
Had Subway for supper, yum!
I am so thankful for the weekend to finally be here. Time to veg out. We have a really busy weekend on tap, starting with daughters first cheering competition.
...
I really, really, really, really wanna run Chicago...
That’s all.
Note: I’d go ahead and register…. worrying about all the responsible adult things ($$$ - flight/hotel/food, etc.) if I didn’t think hubby would divorce me…

Ready to run!
Tonight’s mile, 9:30! No pain. Didn’t even have to hold the belly jiggle!
I can’t wait for group run tomorrow night and a long run this weekend. Aiming for 5 miles on Sunday (so I can eat all the Super Bowl things!) to ease my way back into “long” runs.
Absolutely great conference tonight for Little Miss. So proud of her. Huge improvement over last conference...
Well that's over!
Human Bio exam is done. I have no clue how I did. The wording of the multiple choice questions and the answers were deceiving… I hate tests like that. The essay and short answers were ridiculous. Ah well. Fingers are crossed for at least a C.
I ran my mile. Another 10:00 pace night. 32 in a row =)
Overall today was pretty darn great. Work is going well. Things are falling into...

What this means is…remember how I said I never want to do a Half-Marathon? Yeah, that’s now out the window…
Does everyone see this?!?! He WANTS to do a half marathon… his loving wife isn’t forcing him ;0)

Remember that half marathon coming to my backyard?
I may have just talked my boss into sponsoring a company team!
By sponsoring I mean paying for everyone (that wants to do it… and our spouses…) to register and walk/run it together. Walkers are welcome. There is a 3.5 hour time limit. No pressure, but for fun! So far just about everyone has said they’d do it!
This is so super exciting!
Day = Made!
My life has been boring.
Busy. Just nothing to post about.
I am still “recovering” from my surgery so I haven’t been able to get a really good run/workout in for almost a week. Stitches are getting itchy so things are heading in the right direction. I’m not complaining. Just ready to vamp things up. My body isn’t.
I have kept up with my “at least a mile” challenge. Last...
