PLEASE MAKE SURE I AM AT THE MEET UP YOU ATTEND (me wonders if you’d join the bourbon run group in September…)
I wish I could! September doesn’t work for me though. I’m thinking Soaring Wings, or something else that would fall in the months of October - December.
2012 Goals
Thinking about goals for a new year is tricky for me.
I don’t want too many that I can’t keep up with them, but I don’t want to just have one or two because if they are tangible and completed, then what? I’m a checklist person. I feel like I need all my goals listed so I don’t forget what I want to accomplish and can work on them.
I don’t want to put a goal...
2011 Goals Revisited
WRITE something I’m thankful for, from during THAT day, every single evening of 2011. I did well up until May. Then I started missing days and began trying to fill in the blanks. On May 29th I finally stopped trying to catch up. At which point I gave up. Such a simple and important thing, being thankful.
RUN my first HALF marathon (February). DONE
LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE. On most...

That’s how many pushups I did this morning!

Let the planning begin!
I just found my first official race for 2012! Well, so far =)
RACE THE RUNWAYS 2012
1 Mile - 5K - 1/2 Marathon & NEW - Airport Challenge (Run the 1 Miler & 13.1)
Specifically The Airport Challenge! It’s April 7th. I can’t wait to put my training schedule together.
I’ve also decided I am going to enter the lottery for Maine’s Tri for a Cure. It’s a...

*A reminder to all of us as we prepare ourselves for new goals and adventures in 2012.*
Some people are amazing.
Chills and watery eyes. That’s what I got this morning when I read a post that popped up in the C25K group board today:
I can’t believe I’m going to say this…I dreaded the words when they came out of a teacher’s/professor’s mouth, but can we all introduce ourselves? I’m so excited to be a part of this group, to be held accountable to people, and to...

Cha-cha-changes!
Only a couple more days in 2011. I’m actually happy about it.
Don’t get me wrong, 2011 was a fantastic year in MANY ways. I’m just ready for the changes a new year always brings.
I think I’m finally experiencing the mental shift I’ve been waiting for and I’m SO happy for that (as is my ever expanding waistline).
The biggest change for 2012? No more WIM...

I need to share.
This was just posted by someone in the C25K group page I put together:
“So, I’m feeling pretty proud of myself. I haven’t started the program ahead of time like some others here have, but I’ve had a very significant shift in attitude. In the past, I’d have used the fact that I was planning on starting this program as an excuse to just be awful right up until...

Less than a week. A ramble of sorts.
Last year I wanted all things fitness for Christmas. This year I wanted a smoker and a crockpot. Happily, I got both. Along with a ton of other things that I love. But, it just goes to show how far from the game my head is… and has been for the last few months.
I’m so glad the new year is starting in less than a week. I’m definitely in a funk and am hoping the flipping of...

The WOD that almost didn't happen.
NO. MOTIVATION.
That’s my life when it comes to eating and working out right now. I think it’s because I have SO MUCH going on in preparation for this weekend.
So, this being the case… I had no desire to workout tonight. I just wanted to get done what I NEED to get done and relax. Hubby started getting whiny about missing the workout and I finally said fine. There is no...

Thursday WOD
Yesterday was a rest day thanks to an after work Christmas party. Back at it today.
We’re struggling with the early morning workouts. Just too damn tired to get up. We always feel better when we do, but still don’t. Amazingly, they still get done when we get home.
Warmup (2 rds of 15 unless noted): jumping jacks, shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges, quad/ham...

Another busy day that flew...
+ 3.7 lbs
WIM after two weeks. I’ll regroup after the holidays. I’m not scared. Just not in the fitness frame of mind right now.
I AM thinking a lot about 2012 though. Making goals and plans. Need to put a calendar together and make it happen. I do make them happen. No fear.

Today. So far.
Daughter seems a lot better today. I am hoping that means she can go to school tomorrow.
Whoopie pie mission complete.
Brothers Christmas gift search is over. Wrapped and ready to go.
WOD complete:

What I didn't mention...
Daughter has conjunctivitis. No cheering for her today. Maybe no school tomorrow….
Bought cheap shortening…. for baking…. to save money. FAIL.
Now need to go buy more, better, shortening so I can finish my baking duties. So much for saving money.
Can’t get the gift we planned for my brother in time for Christmas. Yes we slacked. Now have to shift gears and find...

Yes, I'm still alive.
I just realized I have been MIA since Thursday on this little ‘ole blog. I’m still here.
Friday FLEW by at work. YAY.
Yesterday FLEW by with all the shopping, baking and wrapping that I had going on. BOO! I hate when weekends fly. Happy to report though that ALL wrapping is complete. Only a few things left to buy and we’ll be ready for Christmas!
Eating remains to be...
The post in which I whine... and complain.
I don’t whine/complain much. So, today I just feel like I need to get a few things out.
My button popped off my pants. It’s an inside button so it doesn’t really matter, but it’s still irritating. These are my size 6 dress pants that never fit right are WAY snug. My size 8’s are baggy. Go figure.
I started my period today. I’m bloated, crampy and feeling...

Another quickie...
Not sure what is up with all the quick workouts in a row, but I’m not complaining. They kick my ass just as much as a 15 or 20 minute WOD. Here’s today:
Warmup (x2): jumping jacks (15), shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges (15), quad stretches, squats (15 - hold last rep 10 sec).
WOD (for time): 21-15-9 diamond pushups & tuck jumps,100 mountain climbers (50 each...
My daughter said someone called her fat today at school.
And so it begins. Too early (she’s in 5th grade).
People/kids are so cruel.

Slight redemption.
We woke up early to WOD. This is a good thing because I have a meeting tonight and probably won’t get home until after 9PM.
Warmup (x2): jumping jacks (15), shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges (15), quad stretches, squats (15 - hold last rep 10 sec).
WOD (for time and least number of squats): 100 pushups, for every break do 15 squats = 3:17, 4 breaks = 60 squats

WOD & 100 Pushup Challenge
This morning about 5:45AM I performed a week 5 exhaustion test. I read ahead and saw that I had to do 45 in order to move on.
So, I did 45.
Then I looked at it again and found that I had MISREAD and I was actually supposed to keep going and if I did more than 45 (say 46) then I move on. FML.
I probably could have squeezed out another push-up… although I was completely spent when I...
You know it’s going to be a long day when you wake up at 3AM and can’t get back to sleep….
I declare today a rest day.
Thanks to a migraine.
I did complete my research paper so the night isn’t a total loss… I completely fudged it, but as long as I pass the class, who really cares. Goodbye fall semester!
Now I go put a pillow over my head.

The Dirty Dozen
We went with this WOD today.
12 reps, 12 exercises. 5 minute warm up and then 30 minute AMRAP:
1. Squat jumps 2. Air jacks 3. Push-ups 4. Lie down-stand ups 5. Plank jacks 6. Lunges 7. Reverse lunges 8. Cobra to plank 9. In and out v-sit crunches 10. Split squat jumps 11. Squat kicks 12. Dips. = 5 rounds + 1-3.
My arms and legs are STILL tired. It doesn’t help that I was on my feet...
Holy Moly!
We did the Dirty Dozen WOD that was going around yesterday.
All I can say is: ROUGH!
Made it through 5 rounds + 3.
More later.
Now to get daughter to cheering, go to the dump, buy sugar, and continue baking.

Why do you pee every time? Is it something to do with childbirth? Because that shit is scary!
I think so. Weak muscles. I pee before. I put on “protection” and I still leak about 25 jumping jacks in. It was pretty bad yesterday. It actually required me pausing the workout to go to the bathroom again to push out as much as I...

Busy Girl.
Apparently I didn’t post yesterday.
I did WOD. This makes me a good fitblr.
It was a good workout with lots of jumping jacks (jj). Which I have a love/hate relationship with. I love doing them, but I hate that I pee my pants every time. Doesn’t matter what I do to prevent it. I just can’t. TMI? Oh well.
15 minute AMRAP: 12 superman, 65 jj, 12 dips, 65 jj = 6...

Twas the Night Before Christmas - Fitblr Version
amandastartsover:
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the gym All the Fitblrs were sweating, getting fit, not just thin
Their bottles were filled with Nuun and H20 Their workouts still had 20 minutes to go
They finished, they stretched and went home to their beds And visions of deadlifts and runs danced through their heads
They wore their leggings, their shorts, their socks and...
I can’t believe it’s push-up day again. It seems like I just did those suckers!

Baby steps. C25K style.
I wrote about it a few weeks ago, but I’m starting a C25K group. I am really looking forward to it and it is finally coming together!
When I first put word out on facebook about my idea I wasn’t sure how it would go over. If at all. I got about 20 people that were interested. Of those 15 have committed and a few others that weren’t originally included have decided to come...

Thursday WOD
Tonight was WOD night. I wanted to WOD this morning, but I like to be prepared and know the workout ahead of time. I couldn’t get hubby to commit to which one we’d do (or even listen to our choices). So, I gave up and decided tonight would work. In the end we didn’t even do the same one. A running one sounded to good to me, he hates running and avoids them like the plague.

Tuesday WOD
We didn’t get up this morning to WOD. I’m falling back into my “I’m not an early riser” ways… although I loved how I felt after when I actually DID get up to do it.
BUT, we just got it done =)
Warmup (x2): jumping jacks (15), shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges (15), quad stretches, squats (15 - hold last rep 10 sec).
WOD (12 minute AMRAP): 28...

Well, where did that come from?!?!
I’m pretty whiny today. I didn’t sleep well last night, I haven’t been perfect with my eating today, I have no energy and am currently (and have been since 4PM) fighting my daily headache.
So…. When hubby said it was time for WIM and WOD of course I said I’d do it too (whining at the same time…)
Here’s the WOD - complete with Pushup Challenge...
Squats
Apparently they were just what my body needed yesterday because I am SO sore today.
Didn’t sleep well last night so no WOD this morning. Planning on getting it done tonight. If not, then back on track in the morning.
FYI - WIM is going to suck…
More later.

BAM!
As I posted earlier, WOD and push-up challenge exhaustion test were to get done. BAM!
Pushup Challenge: Week 4 Exhaustion Test = 34 total. This leaves me at Level 1 and I’m okay with that. The range was 31-35 so I was at the high end and this left me feeling like I am right where I should be.
Warmup (x2): jumping jacks (15), shoulder stretches, push-ups (5), walking lunges (15), quad...
It's time!
Two full days of no WOD or concern for healthy food intake.
Friday was hangover day and I could barely function. The only good sounding food was greasy fried.
Yesterday, no excuse. Just wasn’t feeling it in the morning and then ate out all day due to Christmas shopping. Those 5 peppermint patties I had before climbing into bed at 11PM… I don’t know what those were all...
Yes, yesterday was a good day!
Too good.
Christmas party didn’t disappoint. I drank way too much and am feeling the effects today…
Boss gave all the employees iPad 2’s for Christmas. Along with chocolates and checks. A few of his favorite things he said. =)
Now, I try to get through this work day so I can go home and doctor this hangover.
